the island (and book news)

I know, I know. It’s been awfully quiet round here. I had NO idea how hard working and juggling children was, and nor did I realise just how much time I spent faffing around on here making it pretty. I hope you lot appreciate it.

Anyway here’s the good news. Tomorrow morning I’m getting in the car armed with my camera and I’m going to the Island of Bute which is the island upon which my book is based.

If you’ve read it, you’ll be excited to see some photographs of the places I mention, and if you haven’t (where have you BEEN?) you can have a look and read a bit of Sealed with a Kiss here.

Life sort of got in the way of writing. I was incredibly fortunate in that I wrote a first novel during NaNoWriMo and it was picked up by agents and publishers and instead of pushing through and doing something about that I was too full of self-doubt to believe that I was actually capable of writing a book people would want to read. But a couple of years and a divorce and a whole new life later and I realise that actually it’s bloody fab. And it’ll be released into the wild in January 2013, to coincide with my 40th birthday. Life bloody well does begin, etc.
